My name is Wei Ma, it is written as 马玮 in Chinese characters. I was born in Lanzhou, China and lived there for 18 years.
I am currently an Assisant Professor at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before joining PolyU, I obtained my Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering. My advisor is Sean Qian. I also obtained the M.S. degree in Machine Learning at Carnegie Mellon University, my Data Analysis Project (DAP) advisor is George H. Chen.
I'm now focusing on exploring the statistical features in both static and dynamic networks and building optimization strategies for recurrent and non-recurrent infrastructure systems. I am very interested in the applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in infrastructure systems.
I finished my undergraduate study in Tsinghua University in 2014. My major was Civil Engineering and I also took Math as my second degree.
